A sushi runner at Bamboo Sushi Bar & Hibachi Express is responsible for assisting the sushi chefs with daily prep and service of the restaurant. In addition to the base hourly pay, runners also receive a tip share as part of their pay. This is often dependent on performance and punctuality of attendance. No knowledge of Japanese cuisine is necessary for an applicant, but it is beneficial. We will train anyone we hire to have the necessary knowledge. The ideal candidate for ...this position would be a hard worker that is self motivated, and possess qualities such as honesty, integrity, cleanliness, and industrious. Interested sushi runners will often go on to become sushi chefs through an apprenticeship-type training program, so there is lots of room for growth in this position.
