In lieu of our normal staff tasting notes, we thought we’d simply quote from the IWR:This is a delicious Merlot showing smoky red and dark red fruit with hints of earth and cedar on the nose. In the mouth, it’s velvet smooth and seamless with excellent balance and an attractive earthiness. Finishes with fine rounded tannins and a lovely,... long finish. 100% Merlot matured in French oak for 18 months. The 2016 Merlot Reserve is currently available for sale at the winery. Cheers!

Yesterday we wrapped up harvest at our Long Green Vineyard. Today through Saturday we are hustling to get as much fruit picked and sorted at our South Mountain Vineyard before the remnants of hurricane Delta move in on Sunday.

An eerie glow this week over the vineyard, with the sun shining thru a smokey haze. The haze is due to smoke from the fires raging on the west coast over 2,500 miles away. As the sun sets on another day of harvest, our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by these historic fires.
