Turn up the volume and hear the bugle of the elk in the Cherokee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Hearing a bull elk’s bugling during the fal...l rutting season is a memorable experience. Is there anything more mystical, more haunting, more definitive of wild nature than an elk bugle? But do take caution: These animals are wild and potentially dangerous, particularly during mating season when the males are aggressively guarding their harems. Observers should get no closer than 50 yards and use binoculars or telephoto lens for closer views. Learn more: https://www.greatsmokies.com/elk-watching/ Video by Bobbie Hammonds Brisse
