We at The Irish Lion are committed to providing a safe environment for your our guests, employees and their families. All staff complete a Covid-19 health screening prior to each shift. It includes a temperature reading and a series of Covid-19 CDC & Monroe County Health Department recommended questions. Any staff who are symptomatic, have a fever, or do not meet Covid-19 screening criteria, do not work. Although we had no reports of Covid-19, after hearing reports of positiv...es in fellow Bloomington restaurants and bars (and privately within the restaurant sector), on July 13th, we asked our crew to test as a precaution. Although not required by the health department, we will always communicate to our guests in the interest of transparency. One employee, who does not work with the public, last shift was on Sunday, July 12th. Masked and gloved, the employee worked in a limited area, and before their last shift, received a Covid-19 screening by management and was also asymptomatic. On July 15th, they were tested during our staff Covid-19 testing days. Today we were notified that this employee tested positive for Covid-19. Their colleagues have tested negative, and we have no other reports of positive tests. We are following all health department and CDC recommendations and procedures. We notified the health department this evening and the staff in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We are regularly closed on Mondays, and will take this time to disinfect the restaurant, as we do daily and on a weekly basis, by a third-party. You may visit our website for all Covid-19 related news, our safety measures including future testing dates and any future positive notifications. The safety and well-being of our guests and staff is our top priority. Like many in the hospitality sector, our crew is doing their best to keep themselves, our families, and guests healthy. As a reminder, we have no other reports of Covid-19, the employee has not returned to work since July 12th, staff testing is on-going and we are retesting routinely even if negative. We will be open for regular business hours on Tuesday, for outdoor seating in The Glen and front patio, and we remain at 50% capacity for dine-in. Contact-free temperature checks are required for all dine-in guests. We offer contactless delivery, to-go and reserved curbside pickup options are also available. Slainte!
